As Winter Blooms

In The Midst Of A Spiritual Awakening, A Family Is Torn

When the utmost pain in your heart comes flooding over you, it confuses your brain. This is painful. How will I deal with this? Why the hell is this happening to me? To hell with 'ME'...how will my family ever recover? The dark side of life has reared it's nasty little head again. I didn't think suffering could ever look and feel this way. I thought I had seen it all, but here it is. The darkest of winter sings a dreary little tune, and it suffocates me with every breath I take. I can let this break me, or I can be an inspiration somehow. The challenge is here. This is what all my spiritual Guru's were talking about:
                              
I guess everything is going to fall apart. I am supposed to be an up lifter during this time. It's purpose is like the story of the Phoenix. Find the silver lining and focus on the good so my life can change. I mean, I started this for the greater good for man kind, so I guess this is where it's supposed to begin. With me. Life is about helping others overcome suffering so you can heal yourself. I can't and won't keep spinning my tires in this karmic conundrum by handling things the same old way. It will only bring more suffering, and I know this. So here I go. THE CHALLENGE HAS ARRIVED...and it's patience, love and positivity that will turn this ugly black cloud into a beautiful rainbow. Things will get better.

The mind really is a powerful force. It can enslave us or empower us. It can plunge us to the depths of misery or take us to the heights of ecstasy. I know I can do this. It's time to learn to use my power wisely and make a difference. Wish me luck...

Art is my life, my passion. I write and I paint. Explaining my ideas about how I will live a happy and peaceful, abundant life simply by being true to myself. You'd have thought I escaped from a mental institution...but, in fact, normal everyday cookie cutter life is the institution. And it's called the matrix... and I'm not going back.


What anybody thinks, is irrelevant. It's my journey...and an excellent time to just disappear for a while.

I don't want an abundant bank account for the same reasons everyone else does. The ability to do what I need to do when I need to do it is what's important to me. Consumer slavery is unappealing to me. I wouldn't own one thing that wasn't a total necessity. It's how I live now. I think it would be rather liberating to have ten million dollars in the bank, and still shop at Goodwill :)

Religion is belief in someone else’s experience. Spirituality is having your own

Cleanse. If you love yourself, you feed your body healthy food each day, so the nutrition can protect you against dis-ease or hardship from illness. In the same way, you gotta keep up your spiritual strength and vitality by cleansing the mind, body and spirit of all crap the negative forces may have deposited upon you. My three day spiritual cleanse begins when I wake up tomorrow. It's kind of like a three day hibernation/meditation away from people, focussing and being totally in the moment. Television and internet...coffee and cell phone...work and people...so long, goodbye. It's me, my books, lots of water and a vegetable diet, sage, candles and sound therapy. I want to learn to live in pure UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. I want my own connection. I know it takes effort to get to that place. Instead of reading about all of these prophets going off on their own for spiritual connection, it's time to have my own. It's only 3 days...it's a start...a different state of conciousness.

Jesus was a hippy anyway

Why do most of the people who claim to be diehard Christians, who talk about god daily and go to church every Sunday are the most judgmental people I've met? I meet about one in ten of these people who seem to really know what Jesus was all about. The rest seem lost in their self biased views. They completely miss his message. They also seem to be on the greedy side. I see more and more of it all the time. The exact opposite of what is taught. Im not wanting extreme athiest rantings or extreme Christian rantings. Just want some comments using some common sense. Im not here to bash Christians, I just wish more people would walk the walk instead of just going to church...thinking if they go to church that's enough. Jesus' teachings are about kindness, harmony, non judgement and unconditional love. Which is actually what the Buddha teachings are about as well. Someone recently asked me why I'm studying Buddhism. The look on their face was one of disgust and anger...and guess what? They were Christian.

The Pretender

It's something along the lines of solitude. I've dubbed it "Polarized"...yeah. I'm Polarized. I'm as happy as I could possibly be with being alone. I feel happy and complete in doing so. Hell, I'm making excuses to be alone. "I'm not feeling good..." It's hilarious. I feel amazing. I call it polarized because that's what people are probably thinking...'she's cold and distant lately'. I don't care. I say that to myself but it's not coming from a negative place. I know who I am and I know what I want, and it just so happens that social status or the status symbols that encompass social status are unimportant to me. The conversation traps that I find myself in. Pretending to be interested in what happened last night at the bar. Oh, wait a second man....is this really happening? They're talking to me while their face is buried in their cell phone. Are they hearing me when I speak...are they appreciating the beautiful music playing during dinner...are they aware of the beautiful night...are they enjoying the flavor of the wine, the smell of their dinner? Why does it feel like they are all hanging out in the boat while I am swimming in the water? Do they see me as pretentious? Am I coming off a snob? I don't know. It's unintended. It's back to the basics...a time I was most happy. A freedom I don't see many people possessing. The simplicity of a night sky, beautiful music and a cup of tea. Is anyone using the most precious gifts they were given? Is anyone aware that they hold the key? I'll do what I do, be who I be, groove how I groove.........and let the rest of the world be who they are without judgement. Live and let live? Yeah...I can do that :)

Through The Glass Doors Of Perception

What’s the difference between settling for things and accepting the way things are? That's been the ever repeating question I keep asking myself. The answer finally came and it's actually quite simple. Faith. I feel when people "settle" for things, they truly believe they cannot do any better or feel they are not worthy of better. They stay in an unpleasant and unfulfilling situation out of fear of change, or the ever so obvious self esteem issues. Either way, there goes their life...
On the other end, there's "accepting the way things are" or smiling in the rain, weathering the storm...whatever analogy you choose, it all means the same thing. Faith. A person who accepts things as they are has faith. A positive and confident attitude of This Too Shall Pass and My Best Life Is Yet To Come, to smile through the pain makes every bit of difference in the long run. You can be a victim of your circumstance OR you can smile and have FAITH.  It's about your perception and the choice is always yours. It wont change by running from it either, it will follow you wherever you go. You have to look it dead in the eye and own it. Own your situation like you intended it to be this way. Then, and only then, can it change. Just keep smiling through it all, and never worry. You're not naive or blind because you're able to smile through the bullshit. You're actually the strongest and most wise, and you will laugh like the big belly buddha...because you have finally realized the Universe is yielding to you and as long as your mind is in sync with worthiness of good, you'll recieve good. It can also be the extreme polar opposite...........so the question is, What is your mind percieving. Are you a victim of circumstance or are you confident and worthy?

In the midst of winter...

About one year ago I started this little odyssy. I really can't give an exact day because I don't believe it works like that. There isn't a real beginning moment. It just starts happening to you. I remember it was after Christmas though. I remember sitting quietly in a chair. No television, no music...no noise. Just the sound of my breathing. I was gazing at the Christmas tree. I was totally content with being right there... although there was somewhere I needed to be in a hurry. My mind was completely clear of the usual racing thoughts and for a change I wasn't anxious. I remember closing my eyes and I began to meditate. The books started coming to me not long after. They were all given to me in the most unusual ways. I didn't purchase a single one of them. They were being sent to me as I needed them... and they still do.  I continue to feed my head and heart and I'm in love with life, what can I say? I've never been so happy, blissful and confident in the midst of everything that is happening in my life outside of me. I now know what it feels like to be happy. I created it. Nothing on the outside is (or isn't) making that happiness. No person, place or thing. No set of circumstances, finances or romances. It's me. I'm arriving :)

The mind of Sun smiles from the center

Today I was able to look DIRECTLY into the sun...without getting blinded. I didn't even have to squint. It was perfectly natural as if I were staring at a flower. There was a blue spot in front of the biggest part of the sun so that I only saw the sunrays. I stood there in a hypnotic state for a few minutes. Shook my head, batted my eyes, rubbed my eyes (thinking I had something in my eye) I know they say it's not good to look directly at the sun but I couldnt resist, I had to look at it. After about 15 minutes I yelled for my boyfriend...and this is how the conversation went:

~ Casey...come look out the window and look at the sun. Do you see a blue spot in front of it?
~ What do you mean? I can't look at the sun. Nobody can look at the sun. Are you high right now?
~ What if I told you I've been staring into the sun for 15 minutes and its in no way what-so-ever hurting my eyes...because theres a blue spot in front of it
~ What blue spot?? Why would you be doing that in the first place?
~ I dont know.... I looked out the window and the sun caught my eye. It took a while but I realized that I was staring directly into the sun. Comfortably....and theres a blue spot in front of the sun allowing me to stare directly at it
~ *walks away shaking his head
~  Wait a minute, do you see the blue spot or not? Because I'm telling you right now, that Im right here looking at the sun and there is a blue spot there protecting my eyes. I am looking directly at it...isn't this interesting? Don't you have any questions? Arent you in any way CURIOUS why I see a blue dot on the sun right now and you dont???
~ *crickets*
~ *continues to look out the window in awe....... until the sun goes down <3


It was literally covering the sun and It felt like my forehead was absorbing energy from the sunrays. Like I was getting filled with "power" or something.....I know, I know. But thats how it felt, that was my experience...and I swear I'm not smoking or drinking anything.
I'm not sure why this blue spot is there or how, I don't know if anyone else has experienced this or not. Certainly I'm not the only one....but it's a first for me. Gonna meditate on it...nite nite :)))

Wanderlusting

Last time I saw this band was in the south of France in Nice. I was bumming it and went to the Cannes Film festival, Monaco (est ce que ce que cest vrai blah blah) and swam nekked in the Mediterarnean (very salty hold yer nose) then saw a kiosk saying these guys were playing tonight for 5 bucks and they are in NYC tonight for tomorrow's concert in Central Park (12/12/12) I love them and miss them! Oh how I wish I were in NYC!

The irony of the spiritual trail

Whew and Sigh...Fuck, it's hard to keep yourself in check. Wanting to help people with their problems, and giving advice without sounding pretentious. It can be heartbreaking. It's like watching them drown. They're reaching out their hand for help, you try with all your strength to pull them in, but they keep slipping away. Some people, well...most people, can't even hear you. Explaining the Law of Attraction to someone who is unable to hear you is just something I have to get used to. They're everywhere...and the worst part is they have no idea that they are the ones creating their problems through negative thought and emotion. I myself was one of those "wide awake but sleeping" people. Most definately. You could not tell me shit about any of this 5 years ago. I met spiritual people all the time but they were wack jobs to me. I meet them now, I love them, understand and learn from them. Many people lose their sense of humor when they go on a spiritual trip. Back then it was such a turn off and just way to serious. I believe life is supposed to be fun and adventurous. Its about quieting your mind through meditation, filling your subconcious with all things positive through books and quotes/affirmations, changing the way you think about people/things/circumstances so you can attract something better. Laugh alot, mind your own business, love and forgive people, don't get involved with negative bullshit, do more often whatever it is that makes your heart sing. When I suggest these things to people they give me that same look that I gave 5 years ago. It's cool though. I don't have to force anyone to see light, I just have to be light and they will go when they're ready. None of us really reach it, its a moment to moment thing and it grows in bio memory; (not that im an expert on it just practicing it humbly here and there) And I'll soon figure out how to help in the meantime without looking like a wack job.
